I feel like we looked at many options before deciding to go with an Urban Northern Coop. We are just starting out and have 3 Favevrolle hens. The Lodge is sturdy and well designed. It went together much more quickly than I expected. My husband is quite handy hardly needed my help. Would recommend the Lodge to anyone who is new to keeping hens.
Got this coop for my four hens. Beautiful coop, set up was super easy. My hens will be moving in next week!
This beats my makeshift coop by a long shot. I have 4 hens and for the last few years they have been living in a makeshift coop, it got to the point they weren't even going in at night.
After scouring the internet and doing too much reading. I settled on Urban Northern's Lodge Coop.
Customer Service has been friendly, shipping was quick, assembly was user friendly. And my hens are happy to boot.
The Lodge Coop exceeded our expectations. The company is very responsive, I ordered mid-morning EST and it shipped by afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised by that. The coop was easy to assemble and I feel it's sturdy. We did have a part of the nesting box damaged during transit, looks like UPS maybe threw or roughly handled the box. Bill got a replacement out the next day, my coop did travel to NY from WA. I have 4 Olive Eggers in my coop and they seem to fit well, I will be free ranging as they get older, they currently seem content in their new home.
Very pleased with the Lodge coop from Urban Northern. It shipped via UPS and one corner of a box was a bit bent in, however the contents inside were fine, I am in Boston so it had a long trip. Was simple to put together. I love the pull out tray for easy cleaning, I am adding a perch inside the run and plan at some point to add wheels and handles to make it tractor style, which seems do-able with this model. I am putting 5 Americanas in it.
