Debated about building our own, however my husband procrastinated so long the summer has came and went.
I wanted to get chicks so they would be fully feathered come late fall. Insert :The Resort- which came quickly and was easy enough for my daughter and I to get it set up in an evening.
I went with 8 Jersey Giants and I think this is going to be a good home for them.

We are so relieved to have went with this model. Friends of ours went with a wood roof version that was a few hundred more from another online dealer, they are already experiencing issues with their roof. The asphalt is an added layer of protection. And I feel the Resort is sturdier as well. I would choose an Urban Northern Coop again.

Ordered in April and just now got it up and assembled. Shipping was fast, directions were easy to follow once I got it all laid out. I highly recommend laying everything out so you can see what you are working with, it makes assembly go more smoothly.
Assembly took me 3 hours. I had kids running in and out needing snacks as I was going, so a more focused person could probably manage in 2 hours.
We painted our Resort coop purple as it's my "eggplant", so I will probably wait to reseal until next summer/fall.
Very happy with Urban Northern's coops and their great customer service as well.

Purchased the Resort this past February in anticipation of getting spring chicks. Glad I went with this model as others out there have wood roofs and I don't like that idea. Easy enough to put together alone, but with a small helper it may have went faster?(my helper is 4) anyhow have had it set up since March now and the ladies are in and happy, can't wait until they start laying some eggs here soon.

It's a good design. I takes a bit of time to put together, but once you understand where thiings, then it goes faster. The run is a bit week and I wish it came with a root. I put one on it.
